ep5 Bosnia Herzegovina motorcycle travel | offroad adventure | KTM 1190 / Suzuki V-Strom 1000

In the previous episode we went to Croatia and visited the Zeljava air base and then we camped in a magnificent camping site The morning finds us in the camping I told you about earlier Fortunately for us the tree canopy saves us from a rude awakening We pack our things and head to the parking lot outside the camping Mihai: Dude, this is a really long walk.

.

.

And hit the road Today we have a long way ahead of us.

we go South towards Martin Brod and Una Park, we stop by the local shop to buy some water, and hit the offroad Igi: Now the girls are all dusty.

.

.

Luci: the first time we came here it didn't seem to be this dusty Igi: Because it was raining ๐Ÿ™‚ Luci: Oh, right.

.

.

Mihai: Guys, you should have waited on the other side to take some shots.

.

.

Mihai: I think this road end up in somebody's back yard.

.

.

After a short ride through a loca's yard, we are facing a gravel slope Mihai: yea, this is where this track ends Mihai: So we have to take the gnarly slope, right? Now everybody has the same question in mind: Mihai: All in? Ramona goes scouting and gives us the green light.

The first up the slope is Adi, followed by Igi, and then us.

Adi: Go! Igi: He said “go” :)) After the climb we end up at the.

.

.

Adi: The first crossroads Adi: What is the right track? Mihai: It's dottesd, right ahead, that's the track Adi: That's a railroad track! Mihai: Guys, the track is straight ahead.

Adi: Man, the dotted route straignt ahead is a railway! Mihai: Right, nope, the route must go along the raiload tracks! Mihai: But that's the one, the track goes aong the dotted line Mihai: Let's go At first, the road goos through a nicecool forest We cross the puddles created after the rain the other day, nothing dramatic .

.

.

so far Adi: Yea, it's rocky.

.

.

weird surface As we make our way forward, the road gets narrower and narower Ramona: Go on the other side of the road! Adi: It is getting pretty hot.

.

.

Ramona: Ok, now move to the other side again All of a sudden we reach a bridge over an incredible, turquoise river.

Adi and Igi don't even sweat it .

.

.

our turn now At first it all goes well halfway through though.

Marina, taken by the beauty of the scenery, looks forward and is surprised to see Mihai standing on the pegs .

.

.

alarm bells set off .

.

.

meaning she grab's Mihai's jacket this chain of events lead to the first tensioned moment of the trip .

.

.

the first fight Mihai: Pane, don't do that! Mihai: Don't do that! Mihai: Just stay put and don't do anything! Marina: Don't stand on the pegs! Mihai: I have to here! Mihai: Just mind your own business! don't pull on the jacket! Soon enough the narrow road gets narrower Now we were always in first gear My radiator fan was always on at this point, not without much success though Mihai: 117 degrees C The engine has soon reached over 120 C, this made me display the error Mihai: Let's check on the temperature.

.

.

Mihai: 122 C? It got hotter standing still? As me feaver kept going strong.

.

.

The guys decided to head back to Martin Brod and try another track This is it, turn right towards Oฤigrije The alternate route didn't go so well either.

.

.

The guys had to literally pull King out Oh, by the way.

.

.

King is the yellow-ish motorcycle Mihai: Hold on, I'll help you out.

Mihai: How is the road to Oฤigrije? Mihai: Ok, how do we do it? Igi: Grab hold of it and we'll push it back.

Mihai: Ok, I'll keep the front brake Mihai: Is it in gear? Igi: Yes Mihai: You'll hold it then right? Mihai: Go straight! Adi: Who is pulling the brake? Igi: The mud!:) Igi: Lean it towards me for a bit Mihai: You have very clean boots Mihai: Ok, time to boil the engine again, take another break and that's it! Mihai: Guys, let me get in front Adi: Ok, come closer.

Mihai: Coming on your right side.

.

stop for a bit.

Mihai: 111 degrees C, guys it's about to freeze Mihai: we have to stop and heat it up a bit.

.

.

Mihai: 110 degrees C! As we were heading towards Martin Brod we decide to climb up to a relay.

.

.

Via another nice offroad track Mihai: Yea, nice one! Adi: that's the weong route.

.

wanna go ahead and see what's up there? We barely start climbing and we found us with another dillema on our hands up ahead there was a large tractor pulling some wood .

.

.

as you might have imagined the problem wasn;'t the tractor but the muddy road! Mihai: I think he wants to turn around here This road goes to Potoci, or something like that Mihai: ths is the second track, the one you dodn't want to take! Mihai: From the point we started offroading, Mihai: there were only 5-10 kilometers to Drvar! Mihai: but on tarmac.

Mihai: This is the second track, the one that takes us to.

.

.

Mihai: that relay or whatever Igi: And how far is it? Mihai: We are about halfway through.

.

.

Mihai: More likely we have about one third left.

Supported by the driver who replied “Yes” to any wuestion, we try our luck and move forward.

Marina: This guy says “yes” to anything, don't know if he understands a bit.

.

Mihai: I think we just went by our objective.

.

.

Mihai: but seems we're still on a track Mihai: Yea, but I can't see the other one at all.

.

.

Mihai: No way because.

.

.

Mihai: these roads were right next to each other, only about 20 kms between them Mihai: We can;t go back all the way there Mihai: Want to stop and check out the map? Mihai: We've completely missed the objective Although we completely miss the right road And ride past the relay, The route is just brilliant Cool forrest, wide road, no bushes.

.

.

Mihai: Yea, this is where we were supposed to get, this is the objective Mihai: This is the objective, right here.

Luci: What? this is it? Mihai: This is it, check out these flowers on the left.

Luci: awww, how cute.

.

.

Marina: How romantic.

.

.

Mihai: I love the puddles on the road.

.

you can drive right through them and cool down the engine ๐Ÿ™‚ Mihai: Go in front with the GPS.

Adi: this road seems to intersect a black road ahead.

Adi: It's slippery on the middle! Ramona: Why do we go through here? Adi: Because there's no other way out! Ramona: And where were those guys going? Adi: They were heading to Podoci.

The day finishes in style.

.

.

at the end of the offroad we hit a nice curvy road which will take us to Jajce Mihai: Take a quick look at this! Mihai: We are here.

.

.

Mihai: Drvar is here.

Mihai: Right next to my finger.

Mihai: And the other stuff is around here.

Mihai: I suggest we head out to Drvar and figure it out there.

Mihai: Another track seems quite alot for today.

.

.

Mihai: There seem to be some more POIs here.

.

Mihai: Or maybe just a short track.

Mihai: Not really to Sarajevo, that is to the SE, Drvar is straight South.

We find a place to stay on Booking, and we go to meet the owner.

Mihai: Let's park on the kerb right here.

.

.

Mihai: Stopping the recording right? 265 kilometers today.

.

.

After we are all parked, our friends go to the place they just booked.

Marina: My ass will be purple by the time we'll reach the beach! Mihai: Oh my, Panita! Mihai: what are you up to?! Ramona: She'll look like a baboon.

.

.

Mihai: Girls, I don't know what you are up to.

.

.

Mihai: The holiday is only starting! Marina: Oh, there's a room upstairs too! Mihai: It looks really nice! After they check in they hit the town After a short tour they find, in the right order, all the must-go places: a restaurant, a pub, and a cool, live music club.

In the next episode we'll play hide and seek with the clouds and we'll check out a pyramid on top of a mountain.
