How To SAVE MONEY While TRAVELING (Chiang Mai, Thailand)

We get asked a lot about how we are ableto afford traveling full time in this video I'm going to share with you how weare able to do that and I'm going to use Chiang Mai Thailand as an example thereason for one is picking where we want to go and figuring out how long we canafford to stay there we decided to stay in Chiang Mai Thailand for three weeksreason number two and that is where we stay now we pretty much use Airbnbexclusively whenever we can very few times we've used hotels so what I liketo do is I find the average cost of what it would be to stay in that countryfor the night and then I just kind of drop it down just a little bit lower tosee what I can get and so this apartment that we have in Chiang Mai was only like$17 a night you might have to sacrifice a couple of conveniences building was a littlebit old we knew we were saving a ton of money soit really not matter to us that's another way we can afford to travel longterm if that would be pick cheap accommodation the third way that we canafford to travel long term is we go to a country me are very selective about whatwe do in Chiang Mai they have what's called the old city it's an amazing citythere are temples everywhere like it's all free even the wraps like I had tocover my shoulders and my knees that was also free it's like a tunic okay so the tag wow this is taking forever tag's outside the garment we just had an amazing time walking around exploring the city that's another way we really save money whiletraveling is we like to choose those free experiences and then if there'ssomething that we know we cannot get anywhere else that is what we will spendmoney on we did choose to do the elephant camp sanctuary we got to hang all theelephants all day that was an amazing experience I did a video on that we alsolike to turn activities into adventures in Chiang Mai, Thailand we were actually celebratingGreg's 30 32nd birthday yeah and created our own excursion and we also had areally good date night – were around each other all the timeso we really don't get many dates pretty much every days a date honestly we justhad lots of delicious wine and pizza Bellissimo and now we are looking forcake what are we doing birthday cake I have a weakness for cereal instead ofcake we got Frosty's which is frosted flakes and Coco Pops so its my birthdayand I'm happy so that is tip number three of how wewere able to afford travel long-term another way we were able to affordtravel long-term is we are mindful about our transportation costs if we can walkthere honestly we will walk there save money and get exercise so a lot of timeswe really choose to walk that's another way that we save money so food caneasily add up I can quickly figure out cheaper to go to grocery store make ourmeals or to actually go out per meal and in Chiang Mai, Thailand and it was like by far cheaperto go out for every meal and it's crazy because we're just not used to that soit kind of felt like like every day was a date all right so we're at anotherlittle station here in the mall or we're gonna eat and they have these tinylittle stools you go up and you order and you sit down this tiny littlecounter but it feels really cozy so I really like it and the best thing aboutChiang Mai is the food has been one of my favorites yummy a stick Oh potato chipsso good so cheap for like this ginormous bowl there 50 baht each which is about a $1.
